About

I am currently in my third year of graduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park within the Department of Educational Leadership, Higher Education and International Education (EDHI). My program of concentration is International Education Policy, and I am particularly interested in social movement theory, education for social justice, human rights, minorities, NGOs, global sustainable development, and mixed methods inquiry.

My dissertation will focus on how higher education institutions can function as social movements in impacting minority rights. The significant role information and communication technologies (ICTs) play in minority education will also be studied and analyzed within the context of higher education.

It is my hope that my academic interests will allow me to teach as well as manifest them into practical applications beyond the classroom through advocacy, monitoring, and research paved along the lines of human security, rights, and social justice.

Aside from my involvement in academia, I am also a Bahá'í, a spoken word artist, an avid footballer, a fan of vegan food, a lover of uplifting music, a student of freestyle graphic design, and a promoter of the betterment of humankind.

Here is one of the many quotes that lights my path: "Justice is not limited, it is a universal quality. Its operation must be carried out in all classes, from the highest to the lowest. Justice must be sacred, and the rights of all the people must be considered. Desire for others only that which you desire for yourselves.” --The Bahá’í Writings
